The Truth About the Entourage Effect.

Why the compounds in cannabis work better together than alone — and what the latest research actually says. A science-backed guide for NJ dispensary shoppers.

The entourage effect — cannabinoids and terpenes working together
01

The Short Answer

It's real, but it gets exaggerated by marketing. Here's the straightforward breakdown.

The Entourage Effect: Real (But Still Being Studied)

It's not fake, but scientists consider it a highly supported theory rather than a settled law of physics.

The science: We know for a fact that certain compounds in cannabis change how THC affects you. For example, clinical trials have proven that the terpene limonene physically alters how your brain processes THC, reducing the paranoia and anxiety that THC alone can cause. [Source]

The hype: Brands sometimes treat it like magic, claiming a specific mix of compounds will perfectly cure your sleep issues or make you instantly creative. The science isn't precise enough to guarantee those specific outcomes for everyone yet.

Full Spectrum: 100% Real

"Full spectrum" is simply a factual description of how a product was made.

What it means: The manufacturer extracted oils from the plant without stripping away the natural terpenes and minor cannabinoids. You're getting the whole plant's chemical profile.

Why it matters: Research consistently shows that full-spectrum extracts work better, and at lower doses, than pure isolated THC or CBD. [Source] When you strip everything away except THC (which is what "distillate" is), the high becomes flat, one-dimensional, and often builds tolerance faster.

The Bottom Line

The entourage effect and full-spectrum products are real science, not fake stoner myths. The compounds in cannabis genuinely work better as a team than they do alone. Just keep in mind that dispensary marketing might oversell exactly how perfect that teamwork is.

02

How It Actually Works

A deeper look at the mechanism behind the entourage effect.

THC alone produces a high. But when paired with terpenes like myrcene and cannabinoids like CBD, the experience shifts — calmer, more focused, or more physical depending on the mix.

Cannabis contains 100+ cannabinoids and 200+ terpenes. The entourage effect says these compounds modulate each other — enhancing benefits, reducing side effects. It's not about one star player. It's about the full cast.

The concept was first described in 1998 by Raphael Mechoulam and Shimon Ben-Shabat, who observed that inactive compounds boosted the effects of active ones in the endocannabinoid system.

This is why a 75% THC live resin cart can feel stronger than a 92% distillate. The supporting compounds change how THC interacts with your body. The percentage on the label is not the whole story.

03

What the Research Actually Shows

No jargon. Here are the key findings that matter if you're buying cannabis — what's proven, what's not, and what it means for you.

Terpenes stop THC from making you paranoid

Johns Hopkins ran a gold-standard clinical trial in 2024. People who inhaled the terpene limonene alongside THC experienced significantly less anxiety, nervousness, and paranoia — while the good effects of THC stayed the same. This is one of the first human trials proving a terpene physically changes how THC affects your brain. [Johns Hopkins, 2024]

What this means for you: If a strain makes you anxious, the problem might not be THC itself — it could be that the product is low in terpenes like limonene. Products with richer terpene profiles may give you the benefits without the paranoia.

Higher THC does NOT get you more high

A JAMA Psychiatry study tested 121 cannabis users — some used flower (16-24% THC), others used concentrates (70-90% THC). Concentrate users had more than double the THC in their blood, but their self-reported high, balance, and cognitive impairment were the same as flower users. Your body hits a ceiling. [JAMA Psychiatry, 2020]

What this means for you: Chasing the highest THC number on the shelf is a waste of money. A 24% flower can feel the same as a 90% concentrate. Pick products by their terpene and cannabinoid profile instead.

Full spectrum CBD works better and at lower doses

Researchers compared pure CBD isolate to a full-spectrum CBD extract. The isolate only worked at one narrow dose — go higher and it stopped working entirely. The full-spectrum extract kept getting more effective at higher doses, hitting 64% inflammation reduction where the isolate dropped to 14-28%. [Frontiers in Neurology, 2018]

What this means for you: If you use CBD for pain or relaxation, full-spectrum products are more forgiving and predictable than isolates. With isolate, there's a narrow sweet spot — full spectrum gives you a wider effective range.

Strain names don't predict your experience — chemical profiles do

Researchers tracked 6,309 real-world cannabis sessions from 204 patients and sorted products by their actual chemical makeup instead of strain names. Different chemical profiles showed statistically significant differences in treating pain, anxiety, and depression. One profile actually made anxiety worse. [Journal of Cannabis Research, 2023]

What this means for you: "Blue Dream" from one grower can have a completely different chemical makeup than "Blue Dream" from another. Ask your budtender about the lab results (COA), not the strain name.

But: CBD doesn't "balance" THC the way people think

A 2024 clinical trial gave 37 people a high dose of CBD (450mg) alongside THC. CBD did not reduce the high or side effects — it actually increased THC's psychoactive effects by 60%. Lower CBD doses (10mg, 30mg) made no difference at all. [Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2024]

What this means for you: Don't assume a 1:1 THC:CBD product will be milder. If you want less intensity, lower your THC dose — CBD isn't an off switch.

The honest bottom line on the science

A comprehensive 2024 review of all existing research concluded the entourage effect is a "productive hypothesis with partial clinical support" — not a proven fact. The evidence is real and growing, but most of it comes from lab studies and observational data, not large-scale human trials. The full theory hasn't been tested end-to-end yet. [Pharmaceuticals, 2024]

Cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis
04

The Key Cannabinoids

THC gets the headlines, but the supporting cast is what shapes the experience. Here are the cannabinoids that matter most.

THC Primary high
CBD Calms, balances
CBG Focus, anti-inflammatory
CBN Sedative, sleep aid
CBC Mood, pain support
THCA / CBDA Raw precursors

Minor cannabinoids are present in small amounts but research suggests they play outsized roles in modulating the overall experience through receptor interaction and enzyme inhibition.

04

The Key Terpenes

Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in all plants. In cannabis, they do far more than create flavor — they actively shape the high.

Sedating / Body

 • Myrcene — earthy, musky. The most abundant cannabis terpene. Promotes relaxation, may enhance THC absorption across the blood-brain barrier.
 • Linalool — floral, lavender. Calming and anti-anxiety. Found in heavy indicas and lavender alike. Synergizes with CBD for stress relief.
 • Caryophyllene — spicy, peppery. The only terpene that binds directly to CB2 receptors. Anti-inflammatory properties. Found in black pepper and cloves.

Energizing / Mind

 • Limonene — citrus, bright. Mood elevation and stress relief. Found in sativa-dominant strains. May increase serotonin and dopamine levels.
 • Pinene — pine, sharp. The most common terpene in nature. Promotes alertness and may counteract THC-induced short-term memory impairment.
 • Terpinolene — herbal, floral. Slightly sedating despite appearing in uplifting strains. Found in Jack Herer and Dutch Treat. Antioxidant properties.
05

Full Spectrum vs Isolate

The entourage effect is the reason "full spectrum" matters — and why product type directly impacts your experience.

Full Spectrum All compounds intact
Broad Spectrum THC removed, rest kept
Isolate Single compound only

Maximizes Entourage Effect

 • Live resin carts — flash-frozen extraction preserves the full terpene + cannabinoid profile
 • Whole flower — unprocessed, complete plant chemistry in every hit
 • Live rosin — solventless, full spectrum, highest fidelity to the original plant
 • Full-spectrum edibles — made from whole-plant extracts, not distillate

Minimal Entourage Effect

 • Distillate carts — THC isolated to 85-95%, terpenes re-added artificially after processing
 • THC isolate — pure THC with zero supporting compounds
 • BDT products — botanically-derived terpenes from non-cannabis plants lack the full synergy
 • Distillate edibles — typically made from refined THC oil, one-dimensional effects

06

What This Means at the Dispensary

How to use the entourage effect to make smarter purchasing decisions at any NJ dispensary.

Read the label. Look for terpene percentages on the package. Products with 5%+ total terpenes deliver a noticeably richer experience than those with 1-2%. If the label doesn't list terpenes at all, assume they're minimal.

Stop chasing THC percentage. A 75% live resin with 10% terpenes will likely feel stronger and more complex than a 92% distillate with 2% added terps. The number on the package is not the whole story.

Ask two questions. "Is this full spectrum?" and "Are the terpenes cannabis-derived or botanical?" These reveal how much entourage effect you're actually getting. Cannabis-derived terpenes (CDT) maintain natural ratios. Botanical terpenes (BDT) are approximations.

Flower is the simplest path. If maximizing the entourage effect is your goal, whole flower gives you the complete, unaltered chemical profile of the plant — nothing removed, nothing added.

07

Common Myths

Misconceptions about the entourage effect that we hear regularly at the dispensary counter.

It's Just Marketing

While some brands overuse the term, the underlying science is real. Peer-reviewed studies consistently show that whole-plant extracts outperform isolates in both potency and therapeutic outcomes.

More Compounds = Always Better

Not exactly. The entourage effect is about the right combination, not the most. Some terpene profiles work better for sleep, others for focus. It's about matching the profile to your needs.

Distillate Has No Value

Distillate serves a purpose — it's affordable, potent, and consistent. But if you want the full-spectrum experience, you need to look beyond THC percentage alone.

CBD Cancels Out THC

CBD doesn't eliminate THC's effects — it modulates them. It can reduce anxiety and paranoia while preserving euphoria and pain relief. Think of it as a thermostat, not an off switch.

All Live Resin Is Equal

Quality varies enormously. Strain genetics, harvest timing, freezing speed, and extraction technique all affect the final terpene and cannabinoid ratios. Brand and source matter.

08

Which Products Maximize It?

Best for Entourage Effect

 • You want whole flower — the most complete chemical profile available
 • You want live resin carts — flash-frozen, full-spectrum terpene preservation
 • You want live rosin — solventless extraction, cleanest full-spectrum option
 • You want CDT products — cannabis-derived terpenes maintain natural ratios

When Isolate Is Fine

 • You prioritize maximum THC per dollar over nuanced effects
 • You want consistency — same experience every session
 • You need discretion — distillate vapor is nearly odorless
 • You're on a tight budget — distillate carts start around $28-$35

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the entourage effect scientifically proven?
The evidence is strong and growing. Multiple peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated synergistic effects between cannabinoids and terpenes. However, cannabis research is still catching up due to decades of prohibition limiting study. The scientific consensus is moving toward acceptance, with most researchers acknowledging that whole-plant preparations outperform isolates.
Can I feel the difference between full spectrum and distillate?
Most experienced users can. Full-spectrum products tend to produce a more "rounded" high with body and mind effects that feel distinct to each strain. Distillate tends to produce a more uniform, heady high regardless of the strain name on the label. Try the same strain in both formats side by side — the difference is usually noticeable.
What terpene percentage should I look for?
For vape cartridges, 5% or higher total terpenes is excellent. Products with 8-12%+ terpenes (like some Superflux or Verano Reserve live resin carts) deliver very pronounced flavor and entourage effects. For flower, terpene content above 2% is considered good. Always look for cannabis-derived terpenes (CDT) over botanically-derived (BDT).
Does the entourage effect apply to edibles?
Yes, but it depends on how the edible is made. Edibles made from full-spectrum extracts (whole-plant RSO, live resin infusions) will carry more of the entourage effect than those made from distillate. If the ingredients list says "THC distillate," the entourage effect will be minimal. Look for "full spectrum" or "whole plant" on the label.
Can a budtender help me find full-spectrum products?
Absolutely. Ask specifically for "live resin," "live rosin," or "full spectrum" products. At The Canna Bar in Matawan, our budtenders can walk you through what's currently in stock and help you find products with high terpene content that match your desired effects.
Is flower always better than concentrates for the entourage effect?
Not necessarily. High-quality live resin and live rosin concentrates preserve the full terpene profile of the original flower — sometimes even more concentrated. The key is the extraction method, not the product format. A well-made live resin cart can deliver a stronger entourage effect than mediocre flower.

Live Resin vs Distillate Vape Cartridges.

What's actually inside your vape cart — and why it matters. A side-by-side breakdown of the two most common cartridge types sold at New Jersey dispensaries.

Full Spectrum vs Refined Terpene Comparison Price Breakdown
Live resin vs distillate vape cartridges Live resin vs distillate vape cartridges comparison
01

What Is Live Resin?

Live resin is made from cannabis plants that are flash-frozen immediately after harvest — never dried or cured. This preserves terpenes that would otherwise evaporate, resulting in a concentrate that closely mirrors the aroma and flavor of the living plant.

Flash Frozen

Fresh plants cryogenically frozen at -20 to -40°F within minutes, locking in the full terpene profile.

Cold Extracted

Extraction at very low temperatures using hydrocarbon solvents, preserving volatile compounds heat would destroy.

Full Spectrum

Retains minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBN, CBC) alongside THC, plus the original terpene ratios of each strain.

True Flavor

Tastes like the actual strain. No terpenes added after the fact — what you taste is what the plant produced.

02

What Is Distillate?

Distillate is a highly refined cannabis oil processed to isolate THC to 85-95%+ purity. The extraction strips away nearly all original terpenes, flavonoids, and minor cannabinoids. Terpenes are typically re-added afterward for flavor.

Dried & Cured

Starts with traditionally dried cannabis or trim. The plant has already lost most of its volatile terpenes.

Heavily Refined

Crude extract goes through winterization, decarb, and short-path distillation — separating cannabinoids by boiling point.

Pure THC

Nearly odorless, flavorless, translucent oil that's 85-95% pure THC. Minor cannabinoids and terpenes are gone.

Terpenes Added Back

Flavor from terpenes re-introduced post-processing — either cannabis-derived (CDT) or botanical (BDT).

03

Side-by-Side Comparison

The key differences that matter when you're standing at the counter deciding which cart to buy.

Flavor Live Resin Wins
THC Potency Distillate (80–95%)
Terpenes Live Resin (5–12%+)
Entourage Effect Live Resin Wins
Price Distillate Cheaper
Shelf Life Distillate Longer
Overall Experience Depends on You

Higher THC% does not mean a better experience. Many users report that live resin carts at 75–85% THC feel stronger than distillate at 90%+ due to the entourage effect from terpenes and minor cannabinoids working together.

04

Pros & Cons

Both products serve different needs. Here's an honest breakdown of each.

Live Resin

 • Authentic strain flavor — tastes like the actual plant
 • Full-spectrum effects — terpenes + minor cannabinoids preserved
 • Stronger entourage effect — more nuanced, balanced high
 • Strain-specific effects — sativa feels different from indica
 • More expensive — $45–$55 per 0.5g cart
 • Shorter shelf life — terpenes degrade with heat and light

Distillate

 • Highest THC potency — 80–95%+ per cart
 • More affordable — $28–$40 per 0.5g cart
 • Very consistent — same experience every time
 • Longer shelf life — stable, purified oil
 • Artificial flavor — terpenes re-added post-processing
 • One-note effects — strains feel more similar to each other

How to Tell Them Apart

Quick ways to identify what you're buying before you get to the register.

On the Label

 • Product name — will say "Live Resin" or "Distillate" explicitly
 • THC percentage — 90%+ is almost certainly distillate
 • Terpene content — higher listed terpenes = likely live resin
 • Key terms — "full-spectrum" or "whole plant" = live resin; "pure" or "refined" = distillate

Visual Cues

 • Live resin oil — golden amber, slightly cloudy or textured
 • Distillate oil — very clear, light, uniformly translucent
 • Price tells a story — same brand, $15 difference? The pricier one is live resin
07

Common Myths

Misconceptions we hear every day at the counter. Let's clear them up.

Higher THC = Better

The single biggest misconception. Terpenes and minor cannabinoids modulate the high. A 75% live resin cart can hit harder than a 92% distillate.

Distillate Is Synthetic

Distillate is real cannabis, just highly refined. The THC molecule is identical to what's in flower. What's missing is the supporting cast of compounds.

All Live Resin Is Equal

Quality varies by flower quality, freeze timing, and extraction method. Some brands cut live resin with distillate to reduce cost — look for "100% live resin" on labels.

Strain Names Are Always Accurate

A "Sour Diesel" distillate cart has Sour Diesel terpenes added for flavor — not the full chemical profile. With live resin, the strain name reflects the actual plant used.

Live Resin Is Unsafe

All licensed NJ products are lab-tested for residual solvents before sale. Legal, regulated products are tested to parts-per-million standards. This is only a concern with black-market products.

08

Which One Should You Buy?

Choose Live Resin If

 • You care about flavor and aroma
 • You want strain-specific effects (sativa vs indica feels different)
 • You prefer a well-rounded, nuanced high
 • You're willing to pay a premium for quality

Choose Distillate If

 • You want maximum THC per dollar
 • You prefer a consistent, predictable experience
 • You want discreet, nearly odorless vapor
 • You're on a budget
09

Visitor FAQ

What's CDT vs BDT?
CDT stands for Cannabis-Derived Terpenes — terpenes sourced from actual cannabis plants. BDT stands for Botanically-Derived Terpenes — terpenes from non-cannabis plants like lavender or citrus. CDT is considered superior for recreating authentic strain flavors.
What about live rosin?
Live rosin is even more premium than live resin. It uses solventless extraction (heat and pressure only, no chemicals). It's the most expensive option — around $55–$60 for 0.5g and $85–$95 for 1g — but is considered the cleanest, most flavorful concentrate available.
Do I need a special battery for live resin carts?
Most live resin carts use standard 510-thread connections. However, live resin performs best at lower temperatures (2.2-2.8V) to preserve terpenes. A variable voltage battery is ideal. Ask your budtender for a recommendation.
How should I store my carts?
Keep cartridges upright, at room temperature, and away from direct sunlight. Live resin carts are especially sensitive to heat — don't leave them in a hot car. Both types are best used within 6-12 months of purchase.
Can a budtender help me choose?
Absolutely. That's what they're there for. Tell them your experience level, flavor preferences, and budget. At The Canna Bar in Matawan, our budtenders can walk you through what's currently in stock and recommend specific products.

Yes. Cannabis must be stored in a closed, sealed container (preferably in your trunk). Driving under the influence is illegal and strictly enforced.

Can I be fired for smoking off the clock?

Generally, no. Under NJ's CREAMMA law, employers cannot fire you solely for a positive drug test, unless your employer is a federal contractor or you are impaired at work.

Am I allowed to grow my own plants?

No. New Jersey is unique; home cultivation is strictly illegal for both recreational and medical users. All cannabis must be purchased from a licensed dispensary.

What is the penalty for possessing more than 6 ounces?

Possessing more than 6 ounces of flower is a 4th-degree crime carrying up to 18 months in jail and a $25,000 fine. Over 17g of concentrates is also a 4th-degree crime with up to 18 months and a $10,000 fine. Stick strictly to licensed dispensary products within the limit.

Can I legally give or "gift" cannabis to a friend?

Yes. You may legally gift up to 1 ounce to another adult (21+). However, you cannot receive anything in exchange—no trades, no "tips". Distributing it for any kind of compensation without a license is a felony.

Do these transaction limits apply to medical cannabis?

No. Medical cannabis patients have a different separate limit: up to 3 ounces every 30 days.

Landlord restrictions?

Yes. Owners can prohibit smoking or vaping on their property.

Will dispensaries be keeping records of what I buy?

No. Personnel will verify your government-issued ID to ensure you are 21+, but they are not allowed to make copies of your ID or retain a record of your purchase beyond what is required for that single financial transaction. No state database tracks you.

Why Higher THC Doesn’t Mean a Better High

Does THC Percentage Matter? | The Canna Bar NJ

For informational purposes only — not medical advice.

A Report by The Canna Bar

Does THC Percentage
Really Matter?

You walk into the dispensary. You sort the menu by THC. You grab the highest number. We get it — most people do. But recent research says that habit might be costing you a better experience. Here's why the biggest number on the label isn't always the best product on the shelf.

Why Higher THC Doesn't Mean a Better High

The THC Trap

I smoked for over 20 years and always grabbed the highest THC on the menu. Every single time. It wasn't until a few years ago — when I stopped chasing the highest number and started paying attention to the full profile — that everything changed. Strains I never would have picked before hit harder, lasted longer, and felt cleaner than the ones I used to grab purely for the percentage. Turns out, the research backs that up.

01

The 2,100-Person Review

A 2026 review of 21 clinical trials found that high-THC groups didn't get better results than placebo for pain — but they did get more side effects like dizziness and drowsiness. You're paying more for the same benefit plus the downsides.

Systematic Review, 2026
4% → 16%

How We Got Here

In the mid-'90s, cannabis averaged about 4% THC. Today it's over 16% — and concentrates go way higher. But while THC went up, CBD and other beneficial compounds didn't keep pace. The stuff got stronger on paper, but not necessarily more balanced or enjoyable.

Even UCSF — one of the top medical schools in the country — is running clinical trials right now on what high-potency THC actually does to your brain. They're not testing whether more THC feels better. They're testing whether it causes harm. That tells you where the science is heading.

90%
Chasing the Number
closeTHC: 90%+ (distillates, isolates)
closeOther compounds: mostly stripped out
closeHigher side effects, not higher satisfaction

Think of it like alcohol proof: 190-proof grain alcohol is technically "stronger" than a well-made bourbon, but nobody calls it better. Past the sweet spot, you're just getting more side effects.

25%
Shopping by Profile, Not Just %
checkLook at terpenes, CBD, and cannabinoid balance
checkFull chemical profile stays intact (flower, live resin)
checkThe high depends on more than one number

A 2025 analysis found full-spectrum products required about 40% lower doses than isolates to achieve similar effects. CBD can take the edge off anxiety and racing thoughts. The point isn't to chase low THC — it's to stop letting one number make the decision for you.

Real Talk from Our Team

We've Been There Too

"I've smoked cannabis for more than 40 years — some very good, some very bad. Like most people, I used to chase the highest THC on the menu. A majority of our customers still do. Most want something over 25%, up to 35%. Anything under that? They'd laugh at it."

"Then we added Brighterside Farms to our menu — soil-grown, organically fed, and honestly one of the best in New Jersey. I recently smoked their Trainwreck strain at 18.75% THC. The effects could go up against a 35% product easily. Most people would never pick it based on the number alone — and that's exactly the problem."

"Once customers are educated on terpenes, cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, and the entourage effect, they stop chasing THC percentages. The number on the label doesn't tell you how it's going to feel."

— The Canna Bar Team

Try It Yourself: Brighterside Farms Trainwreck

At 18.75% THC, this soil-grown strain from Brighterside Farms proves the point better than any study. Rich terpene profile, clean effects, and a high that competes with products twice the percentage. Available now at The Canna Bar. Ask our budtenders about it — or any Brighterside Farms product on our menu.

Meet Brighterside Farms

Brighterside Farms grows cannabis the way it should be grown — in real soil, fed organically, with no shortcuts. Their flower is some of the cleanest, most flavorful product available in New Jersey, and it's a perfect example of why the full plant profile matters more than a THC number.

Their Trainwreck strain at 18.75% THC is proof that how it's grown and what's in the profile matters more than what's on the label. Available now on our menu at The Canna Bar.

Brighterside Farms — London Pound Cake. Soil-grown, organically fed. Available at The Canna Bar.

What to Do Instead

Stop Sorting by
THC Alone

Your high isn't just about THC. It's about your tolerance, the terpenes in the product, whether there's CBD in the mix, how you're consuming it, and even your mood that day. THC is one ingredient — not the whole recipe. A 22% strain with a great terpene profile can feel better than a 35% strain that's been stripped of everything else.

Tell Us What You Want to Feel

Instead of asking "what's the strongest?", try telling our budtenders what kind of experience you're looking for. Relaxed and sleepy? Focused and creative? Social and uplifted? We'll point you to strains where the full profile matches your goal — not just the THC number.

Talk to Our Budtenders

Look at the Whole Label

Check for terpenes like myrcene (body relaxation), limonene (mood lift), or caryophyllene (calm without sedation). Look at the CBD content too. A product with some CBD alongside THC often produces a smoother, less anxious high. The science backs this up — and you'll probably notice the difference on the first try.

Read Beyond the %

Why the Whole Plant Matters

A

Cannabis Has Hundreds of Compounds

THC gets all the attention, but the plant produces hundreds of other compounds — terpenes (the stuff you smell), CBD, minor cannabinoids like CBG and CBN, and flavonoids. There's a theory called the "entourage effect" that says these compounds work together, and the combination shapes your experience more than any single one. Think of it like food: a tomato is more than just sugar and water — the flavor comes from everything working together.

B

We'll Be Honest — It's Not Fully Proven Yet

We're not going to oversell you. The entourage effect is a promising idea, but as of 2025, the human research is still catching up. Some lab studies support it, others don't. What we can say is that it's consistent with what thousands of customers actually report: strains with a good terpene profile and balanced cannabinoids tend to produce better, more well-rounded highs — even at lower THC numbers. That's real-world experience backed by a plausible scientific theory, even if the final proof isn't in yet.

C

What the Science Does Support

A few things are well-supported: CBD can take the edge off THC — reducing anxiety and paranoia for many people. Full-spectrum products (where nothing is stripped out) appear to require lower doses than pure THC isolates to get similar results. And the direction of the industry is clear — federal research agencies are investing in understanding minor cannabinoids and terpenes, and the cutting edge of cannabis science in 2026 is focused on finding the right balance, not pushing THC higher.

Your best high isn't the highest number.

Next time you're at The Canna Bar, try something different. Instead of grabbing the highest THC on the menu, tell our budtenders what you actually want to feel. We'll help you find a product where the full profile — not just the percentage — works for you. You might be surprised at how much better a balanced product hits compared to a one-dimensional THC bomb.
