On September 27th, we joined approximately 300 community members at this special fundraising event, where we had the privilege of contributing $500 to support the Old Bridge Militia's mission of enriching children's lives through music.

A Legacy Born from Tragedy
The Old Bridge Militia's story is deeply connected to one of rock music's most influential bands. This fundraising event was approved by Metallica and honors the memory of Cliff Burton, the band's original bass player who tragically died in a bus crash in 1986. The foundation was organized and started by Cliff Burton's father, turning personal tragedy into a lasting legacy that supports young musicians.
Old Bridge: The Birthplace of Metallica
Not many people know this important piece of music history: Metallica got their start right here in Old Bridge. The legendary band was founded by Jim Zazula, who owned a record store in nearby East Brunswick. The band's first two albums were actually recorded in Old Bridge, making this community an essential part of heavy metal history.
